By enhancing police response times, Ron will ensure that law enforcement can quickly and effectively address incidents, providing a stronger sense of security across our neighborhoods.
Ron will hire a permanent Police Chief and quickly achieve adequate Police Department staffing. This will enable the re-establishment of a traffic division to address reckless drivers that endanger our community.
He also advocates for investing in proven crime prevention technologies, such as advanced surveillance systems and data-driven tools, to deter criminal activity before it starts.
Just as crucial is the need to strengthen the relationship between the police and the community. Ron believes in building trust and fostering collaboration so that law enforcement and residents can work together to keep our streets safe.
Addressing Homelessness
Antioch is facing a growing homelessness crisis that demands compassionate and innovative solutions.
Ron Bernal’s approach focuses on incentivizing the development of new housing solutions and providing the necessary support for those transitioning off the streets.
He is dedicated to connecting unhoused individuals with essential services like mental health care, addiction treatment, and job training to help them regain stability and rebuild their lives.
Ron understands that effective solutions require collaboration, which is why he’s committed to expanding partnerships with Contra Costa County, local nonprofits and faith-based organizations that specialize in providing comprehensive care and support to those in need.
His goal is to pursue all available outside funding and work collaboratively with stakeholders to address homelessness in a way that lifts up the entire community.
